At Christ Episcopal, Nacogdoches we strive to serve the broader community in worship, service, education, and fellowship. We are the Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches County, Texas, a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas, which is a forward-looking regional body of our province of the Anglican Communion. Christ Episcopal enjoys traditional liturgy and hymnody. We are the church nearest Stephen F. Austin State University, and we host a campus ministry, known as Episcopal Jacks. We also sponsor a missional community at Independence Manor, a local living facility for adults with disabilities. Christ Episcopal School, our long-time outreach project, was founded in, 1948, and its focus is on students 3 years of age through 5th grade. Our parish participates in several adult Christian formation classes, primarily studying books of the Bible.
We affirm the teaching of the Apostle’s Creed, Nicene Creed, and the formularies of the 39 Articles of Religion.

We believe:
We believe it’s OK to ask questions. There are many different viewpoints but only one source of all Truth, and that Truth is found in Jesus Christ. Since “all things came into being through Him” (John 1:3), all answers are eventually found in Him.
We embrace the Anglican tradition of the original Church of England in the via media (“middle way”) and its desire to be the church for all people.
- that the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God.
- that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- in the full deity and humanity of Christ.
- in the spiritual lostness of humanity.
- that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
- in loving God and others in a community of faith.
- in making available to all a personal relationship with Jesus Christ guided by the Holy Spirit.
- in living life guided by Biblical truth, teaching, study, and prayer.
- in the two sacraments of the Gospel, namely Holy Baptism and the Holy Communion.
- that the mission of the Church found in Matthew 28 is to “go and make disciples of nations.”
